Carlos dos Santos (São Paulo-SP, 1990) is percussionist and composer. He studied at EMESP (former ULM) with Ari Colares and Alfredo Lima. Guided by Ricardo Bologna, he holds a bachelor’s degree in percussion from University of São Paulo. He studied composition with Eduardo Guimarães Álvares and Aylton Escobar. He was laureate in several competitions among them, the Funarte Prize of classical composition; the second composition competition of the Chamber Orchestra of the University of São Paulo, the IV “Tinta Fresca” festival of the Minas Gerais Philharmonic Orchestra, the second place in the Camargo Guarnieri competition and the composition competition for piano Franz Liszt. He was academician of the Symphonic Orchestra of the State of São Paulo (OSESP) studyng with Elizabeth del Grande and Ricardo Righini. Currently holds a master’s degree in music from Unicamp under the guidance of Manuel Falleiros.
